We Turn Red is the third track from the band's eleventh studio album, The Getaway. The song was released as a preview track for the album on the band's YouTube channel on June 9, 2016.
Fans who pre-ordered the album through the band's website got a digital download of "The Getaway", "Dark Necessities" and "We Turn Red" for free.
It made it's live debut at the Pinkpop Festival in Landraaf, Netherlands on June 10, 2016. A live version of the song was released in the Live in Paris EP.
